Dr Benjamin Wakefield graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBBS) from Griffith University in 2013. He initially trained and worked as a rural General Practitioner before completing his fellowship with the Royal Australian & New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP). Dr Wakefield has completed further qualifications in Public Health, Medical Administration and Clinical Leadership.
Dr Benjamin Wakefield has worked in several roles throughout his 10 years as a doctor in both private and public practice and is also currently a reserve medical officer in the Army reserve. Having been a GP prior to his psychiatry training Dr Wakefield has worked throughout rural Queensland as both a GP and as a psychiatrist, having spent 3 years as the Medical Superintendent of Oakey Hospital.
Throughout his training Dr Wakefield obtained a broad experience in many areas of psychiatry.
