Why do I need an updated ECG before booking an appointment?

If you are being assessed for ADHD with Cloud Clinic and may be considered for stimulant medication, an up-to-date ECG is essential to book your appointment. ADHD medications can sometimes cause cardiovascular side effects (including elevated heart rate), and the ECG helps your doctor determine whether these medications are safe for you or if an alternative treatment might be more suitable. Having a current ECG prior to your initial review helps decrease the number of review appointments before any potential treatment is started in turn minimising your overall costs.
An ECG (electrocardiogram) is a simple test that measures the electrical activity of your heart. It helps your GP check for any heart rhythm issues or other cardiac conditions that might affect your treatment.

Do I need a referral to book an appointment?

Yes, we will need a valid GP referral to progress to booking an appointment online. If you enquire online, we can send you our required questionnaires/documentation for you to visit your GP to obtain your referral, along with our requested GP Physical Health Check form.
