Send through a referral and book an initial appointment. It’s a good idea to email through the below prior to the appointment.

How does the appointment structure work?

Child and adolescent psychiatric care at Cloud Clinic followsa structured, staged approach to ensure a thorough and supportive assessment.

Step 1

The first appointment is a comprehensive evaluation. It typically includes:
• A detailed developmental and mental health history• Discussion with parents or carers
• Direct conversation with the child or adolescent (where appropriate) but this usually occurs in the second appointment
• Review of symptoms, functioning and current supports
• Psychological assessment tools will be given to complete between the first and second appointment (if required)
• Physical health screening will be requested (if required)

The structure may vary depending on age and clinical presentation.

Step 2

•  A detailed review with the child (either alone or with a parent present)
•  Review of assessment tools given at the first appointment
• Detailed discussion with     parents/carers and child in regard to the findings of the two assessment     appointments
• A tailored plan will be created in collaboration with the child and parents/carers
• A detailed report will be sent back to your GP.

Step 3

Follow-up sessions focus on:
•  Clarifying diagnosis (if     required)
•  Reviewing symptoms and progress
•  Refining treatment plans
•  Providing guidance and     psychoeducation
